2. Name: Firmino Adão Canhoto (Master)
Date of Birth: 31/01/1943 (Aveloso – Mêda – Beira Alta - Portugal)

- Starts working at age 11 with his Master José Clímaco.
- At 18, he starts working on their own.
- Performing pieces of artistic furniture and simultaneously creating his own models, not only in the area of furniture, but also in string musical instruments (manufacture and restoration).
- Execution of works for the Town Hall of Mafra, to the Civil Government of Lisbon, Antique dealers, decorators, etc..
- 1984 National Award for Best Artwork of Traditional Crafts, a Louis XVI bed ( Casino Estoril Art Galleries).
- 1985 National Prize of the Best Artwork of Traditional Crafts, with D. Maria "Rich" bed.
- 1990, begins to give training in Carpentry Arts, Professional School of Patrimonial Recovery ( Town Hall of Sintra).
- 1990, participation in the 1st exhibition of art materials from the countries of Europe in Avignon - France.
- 1993, won the 1st Prize Regional (Lisbon and Tagus Valley), with a D. Maria "Rich" Bed.
- 1993, gets the 2nd National Prize for Traditional Crafts, with the same bed D. Maria "Rich".
- 1994, acting as technical faculty at the School of Conservation and Restoration in Lisbon.
- 1994, is invited by the Foundation Ricardo Espírito Santo Silva, "Institute of the Arts and Crafts," under the PEJENE to disseminate and promote skills to young people with professional qualification, level 3.
- 1997, construction of a Bed in the Style D. Maria "Rich" with Brazilian Satinwood, where secrets were applied, for the Infanta Maria Francisca, daughter of the Royal D. Duarte e D. Isabel Herédia.
- 1997, is considered by IEFP the master number 1 of Portuguese Artistic Furniture, who chooses him to join the exhibition "The Ages of Wood" in the FIL.
- 1998, the School of Conservation and Restoration, enters his name on Encore Network (European Educational Center for Conservation and Restoration).
- 1999, construction of a Bed Style D. João V, to His Royal Highness the Prince of Beira, D. Afonso de Bragança, son of the Portuguese royal couple.
- 2000, performs an artwork with various inlaid wood, representing the Cova da Iria - Fátima, that was offered at 5/13/2000 to His Holiness Pope John Paul II.
- 2001, receives from His Holiness Pope John Paul II, "special Apostolic Blessing to the Master Firmino Adão Canhoto and his Family", a beautiful picture accompanied by a letter.
- 2001, Official Certification of the Signature that usually carves in his works, and assigned the number 1260 by the General Inspectorate of Economic Activities.
- 2006, certified by the Portuguese government PPART program as recognized Handicraft Production Unit Nr. 120794.
2006, certified with the Craftsman Card, by the National Commission for the Promotion of Crafts and Craft Micro-enterprise.
- 2006, under the election of the 7 Wonders of Portugal, is invited by the project organization, to present an artwork, expressing his view on the Royal Palace and Convent of Mafra.
- Is since 1986 newspaper correspondent for "O Carrilhão".
